Introvert in Product Community
When I first started this blog late last year, my goal was nothing more than sharing my own experience and helping those in need. It was after my debut at a Product School event, that I realized how many people faced the same challenges I did - the introversion, the lack of product experience, or any other "disadvantages" compared to the mainstream elite. And yet, they all shared the same passion in product management and had a strong desire to break into or succeed in tech product roles. I was determined to help where I can and make a difference.
Today, many weekly posts after, that same goal is clearer than ever. It has been encouraging to continue hearing from about how much these content resonate and are helpful. It tells me that I'm on the right track, and so I'll continue to do it until you ask me to stop :)
I've also been reflecting on how I can do better, more or differently to create more impact. And I realized that by far, it's been mostly uni-directional: I wrote the post, you consumed, though I do appreciate when you as readers reached out to me from time to time. However, I think it's a miss if we don't share and connect with each other. If we all share similar challenges and goals, why don't we learn from each other. Like a community.
So this is what I'm going to do now. I want to kickstart an Introvert in Product Community that's outside of the blog, to facilitate the said connections. Using this short post, I'd like to encourage all of you to join. It's a Linkedin Group because I think it's the best platform for the professional and career development context. There's not much going on there yet as I literally just created it. I plan on kicking off some topics and driving some discussions. But hey, the community is ours, I'd love YOU to create topics, ask questions, share ideas, and connect with others!
So again: Join us, be yourself in the community. Only one rule: please do engage (as yourself!) :)
